ILLUSTRATED "TOGETHER WE WALK" HALLMARK CROWN EDITIONS 1972

A beautifully crafted Hallmark Crown Editions book from 1972 that looks new, with a short story by Peter Seymour and illustrations by Pamela Brunke. And if that was not enough, there is a heartfelt gift inscription from one friend to another that reads;

So they left a little space for me-

My mind is a blank & my pen is numb. I know if I put it off I still won’t get it right. As you frequently put it, “all has been said before”, that’s true as long as you know how much I love you. Ours is a solid kind of friendship and even better than before. It may seem strange to say but it is the things I don’t like about you are almost always outshined by everything I love. But because I know these things the circle is complete and the relationship whole. The strange reason that I harp on this unpleasant thought is because for the longest time I did not notice too many faults so that when I did I kind of felt disillusioned with you. But no one is ever what we build them up to be - all are human and fallable as we must be. And we love eachother for this humaness. We’ve been friends for only about three years but it seems like a lifetime. So much has been shared & flowed together, you are definitely the closest friend I’ve ever had. I think that is because you’ve taught me so much and helped me to grow. Like the oldest branch of a young oak tree my memory will hold this part of my life throughout the rest of it, as a fundamental, fulfilling growth time. I have come to accept this separation, believe it as I must, and conclude that it’s not so bad, California’s only 3,000 miles!!! It could be worse. Anyway somehow we’ll still be together, as long as we don’t forget. Oh, I say things so badly but at least I try to say them. I hope you like this book as much as I do - though I wanted to get you everything.

The type is set in Shakespeare, a roman typeface designed by Gudrun Zapf von Hesse exclusively for Hallmark Editions. The paper is Hallclear, White Imitation Parchment and Ivory Fiesta Parchment. The cover is bound with imported natural Seta silk book cloth and Torino paper.”
